“Engaging Youths in understanding Federalism.”
YFD envisions growing as a think tank empowering young minds by facilitating intellectual and proactive mediums and channelizing their acquired skills to support the local community and the nation.
The journey of YFD was initiated through the Model Provincial Assembly organized in 2019. Soon after the completion of the particular program, a group of its participants and project leader sat together to start up a platform for youths operating through the research and civic engagement medium. Nepal's history of having 7 different constitutions in a span of 65 years led to frequent structural and system change. Governance mechanism, public service bodies and citizens had a hard time comprehending the constantly changing system. This group of young minds felt the need of intervention to provide some stability to the system. The priority for next 10 years has to be getting all Nepali people specially youth to understand the constitution and the necessity to withhold the leadership positions.Consequently, their concern on escalated political instability and youths’ apathy for allegiance towards the nation formed YFD in 2019 with the main aim to work as a think-tank reviewing the actions of government and its agencies through shared values and ideas of youths. Since then it has been working towards its mission through collaboration with several private, community and public entities.
