Model Provincial Assembly (MPA) was organized in collaboration with Kathmandu School of Law on 3
rd of Asoj, 2076 on the special occasion of Constitution Day. MPA was a mock of Provincial Assembly of Province Number 3, where the bill on Special Economic Zone was proposed and finally passed by
the whole Assembly. The main objective of the program was to acquaint youths with the legislative procedure of the Provincial Assembly by providing them the unique experience of taking the mock role of Member of Provincial Assembly. As the Member of the Provincial Assembly, participants raised the issues of concern for the Province during the lawmaking process.
Among the total participants, three were provided with the “Best Performer Award” and two were provided with the “Best Speaker Award”. The special presence of Honorable Member of Federal Parliament Mahesh Basnet and, Honorable Member of Provincial Assembly Lal Kumari Pun Sushila appreciated the initiation of MPA and encouraged similar activities. As an inspiring note to
the program, Prof. (Dr.) Yubaraj Sangroula encouraged all the youths to work for the state and to stop blaming the government for and everything.
